Responsibilities:
Build and deploy production systems for scientists who have high expectations for quality, turnaround, performance and reliability.Contribute to the creation of a reusable, reliable, observable platform for ingesting a large number of heterogeneous data sets from numerous disparate sources, including all of the major cloud providersParticipate in and promote professional data engineering practices as appropriate within your team.Ensure adherence to Novartis global Information Security and Quality standards and policies for all products/services..Minimum requirements:
Experience developing components of a cloud-based solution at scaleDemonstrated understanding of data processing engines, data ingestion, modeling, extraction, and metadataDemonstrated ability to work well as part of a high-performing engineering teamExperience building or enhancing ETL pipelines using cloud-centric technologiesInterest in intersection between the life sciences and computer scienceExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within your teamExperience adhering to a standard software development lifecycle, including build platforms (Jenkins) and source repositories (Git)Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environmentAble to work independently while consulting and informing the broader team
Desirable requirements:
Linux, shell scripts / bashJavascript / Typescript / Node.jsExperience with Python a plusExperience coding with restful APIsExperience using browser developer tools, such as PostmanDemonstrated understanding of AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, LambdaBasic statistics / numeral literacy
