Job Description:

The role of Associate Telecommunications Operations Specialist is an entry level role within the Telecommunications Operations Management job family. This role works under supervision of more experienced team members and has the key responsibility of working cross-functionally across various geographic regions and requiring coordination with customer facing project managers to provision new customers and services primarily focusing on Service Number enablement.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages the ordering, provisioning, porting, and inventory of all Service Numbers (Toll-free, GEO, NAT) ensuring that they are scheduled and deployed with a high level of coordination with the Delivery team and customer-facing project managers Participates in after-hours porting of numbers to ensure seamless customer cutovers in a 24x7 environment
  • Participates in the weekly, monthly, and quarterly vendor service reviews along with the Carrier Operations Managers Escalates issues with the vendors when normal escalation paths by the team have been exhausted
  • Participates in the identification of opportunities to improve, orchestrate or automate repetitive tasks, prioritize them and work cross-functionally to create or deploy new processes to increase the level of efficiency across teams.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • Multi-lingual in at least two languages preferred (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese) 
  • Experience with Excel and analytical tools such as PowerBI and Business Objects 
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills & demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills 
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and initiative to satisfy internal and external customer requirements 
  • Applies knowledge and basic problem-solving techniques to define and resolve problems 
  • Works on problems of limited scope
  •  

    Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Business or related 

  • Required Experience:

  • Detailed oriented -Solid communication and analytical skills 
  • Experience in provisioning telecom services such as new number assignment, porting of geo and toll-free numbers 
  • Preferred experience in small to large scale customer migration projects working closely with customer project managers to coordinate phase deployments of complex and critical PBX and call center environments.
